Finally. Something to blog about.

A tough week so far, it's been painful. And though some tears did stream down my face, I kept myself strong without "losing it."

To my "kakis" who know my dilemma, thanks for being so supportive and encouraging. I really appreciate you guys :')

On a brighter note, 2 songs are on their way to completion :)

I will move on, there's still some things to be done.

But at the same time, I will wait, and I shall trust Him : ) Cause He had revealed too much for me to throw in the towel now :)

On behalf of the CF SMKSU Worship Team, I would like to thank all those who auditioned to join us. Thank God for the new batch of fresh talent that has been provided. It won't be long before we will see new faces on stage thus reliving veterans like Joyce and Nehe XP

Just some things i want to make clear when you are part of the Worship Team:

1) It's not about you, it's about GOD.

God only expects our best when it comes to Worship or else it would be unacceptable to Him. And it's not for you to glorify yourself but to glorify HIM.

2) Set your hearts right

Before any Praise and Worship sessions starts, take some time to quiet down yourself and pray. Set everything right with God before leading the rest of the congregation to a time of Praise and Worship.

3) ATTEND CF

This the MOST IMPORTANT point that I'll make. Serve in other CF departments as well. Don't only come when you're playing or singing on that day.

4) practice, Practice, PRACTICE!

Grow in your talent! Don't just come for practices with the rest of the band, I expect you to go online and search for the chords on your own and PRACTICE AT HOME to further expand your skills! Worship Leaders and back-up singers, turn on your audio and sing to the songs! IF you are a drummer and got no drums, just turn on your mp3/mp4/mp5/Ipod/Ipood and AIR DRUM!

5) Be PUNCTUAL

For practices, or even for the day itself. Guitarists, you need to be early to tune your guitars! You need to be early as a team to pray! You need to be early to run through any songs or parts you want to rehearse last minute!

6) Avoid MISTAKES!

Yes, please if possible, avoid as much mistakes as you can. It's really distracting. Imagine during the time of worship and everyone is having their own intimate moment with God and then suddenly the mangkuk guitarist go hit the wrong chord or note and then everyone will DEFINITELY will go "Hah? What was that?"

7) Be a good listener

Be open to suggestions by the other members of your team. For example if you want this attack or you want to pull of this acapella part of the song. But let's say one of your teams wants to experiment with other stuff with the song, be open and everything cannot always be done you way. But do keep in mind to sometimes keep things simple, rather than remember many parts and then screw it up on the day of your session itself.

8) Be a good example

Seriously, take this into consideration. I don't like anyone who has a been black labelled by the discipline teacher to be on stage. What if some guy walks into CF and then sees you on stage and goes, "EH! I know that guy! What's he doing up there?! HE STOLE MY GIRLFRIEND!"

I remember a friend of mine from church stating that we as the worship team have to create this platform for others to worship God. One thing that I desperately hope and pray is that all of you would be disciples first then only musicians. Another thing is when you are on stage, you might be busy playing your instrument, but above all, grab every opportunity to worship Him at the same time!

If you set your hearts right with God and you give your all to him, then you wouldn't have to worry about hitting the right notes, pulling off the right riffs, the timings because when you truly worshipping Him, all of these will surely come on it's own!

Karangan 'Terbaik' UPSR 2007- Kemalangan Paling Ngeri‏

Pagi itu pagi minggu. Cuaca cukup sejuk sehingga mencapai takat suhu beku. Sebab itu saya tidak mandi pagi sebab air kolah jadi air batu dan air paip tidak mahu keluar sebab beku di dalam batang paip. Pagi itu saya bersarapan dengan keluarga di dalam unggun api kerana tidak tahan sejuk. Selepas itu emak saya mengajak saya menemaninya ke pasar. Tetapi saya tidak mahu.

Selepas emak menikam perut saya berkali-kali dengan garfu barulah saya bersetuju untuk mengikutnya. Kami berjalan sejauh 120 kilometer kerana pasar itu letaknya 128 kilometer dari rumah. Lagi 8 kilometer nak sampai pasar saya ternampak sebuah lori kontena meluru dengan laju dari arah belakang.

Dia melanggar emak saya. Emak saya tercampak ke dalam gaung. Dia menjerit "Adoi!". Lepas itu emak saya naik semula dan mengejar lori tersebut. Saya pun turut berlari di belakang emak saya kerana takut emak saya melanggar lori itu pula. Pemandu lori itu nampak kami mengejarnya. Dia pun memecut lebih laju iaitu sama dengan kelajuan cahaya. Kami pula terpaksa mengejar dengan lebih laju iaitu sama dengan dua kali ganda kelajuan cahaya. Emak saya dapat menerajang tayar depan lori itu. Lori itu terbabas dan melanggar pembahagi jalan lalu bertembung dengan sebuah feri. Feri itu terbelah dua.

Penumpang feri itu yang seramai 100 orang semuanya mati. Pemandu feri itu sangat marah. Dia pun bertukar menjadi Ultraman dan memfire pemandu lori. Pemandu lori menekan butang khas di dalam lori dia..lori itu bertukar menjadi robot Transformer. Mereka bergaduh di udara. Emak saya tidak puas hati. Dia pun terus menyewa sebuah helikopter di Genting
Highlands dan terus ke tempat kemalangan. Dia melanggar pemandu feri yang telah bertukar menjadi Ultraman itu.

Pemandu feri itu terkejut dan terus bertukar menjadi pemandu feri semula lalu terhempas ke jalanraya. Pemandu feri itu pecah. Pemandu lori sangat takut melihat kejadian itu. Dia meminta maaf dari emak saya. Dia menghulurkan tangan ingin bersalam. Tetapi emak saya masih marah. Dia menyendengkan helikopternya dan mengerat tangan pemandu lori itu dengan kipas helikopter. Pemandu lori itu menjerit "Adoi..!" dan jatuh ke bumi. Emak say menghantar helikopter itu ke Genting Highlands. Bila dia balik ke tempat kejadian, dia terus memukul pemandu lori itu dengan beg tangannya sambil memarahi pemandu lori itu di dalam bahasa Inggeris.

Pemandu lori itu tidak dapat menjawab sebab emak saya cakap orang putih. Lalu pemandu lori itu mati. Tidak lama kemudian kereta polis pun sampai. Dia membuat lapuran ke ibu pejabatnya tentang kemalangan ngeri itu. Semua anggota polis di pejabat polis itu terperanjat lalu mati. Orang ramai mengerumuni tempat kejadian kerana ingin mengetahui apa yang telah terjadi. Polis yang bertugas cuba menyuraikan orang ramai lalu dia menjerit menggunakan pembesar suara. Orang ramai terperanjat dan semuanya mati.

Selepas itu emak saya mengajak saya ke pasar untuk mengelak lebih ramai lagi yang akan mati. Di pasar, emak saya menceritakan kejadian itu kepada penjual daging. Penjual daging dan peniaga-peniaga berhampiran yang mendengar cerita itu semuanya terkejut dan mati. Saya dan emak saya terus berlari balik ke rumah. Kerana terlalu penat sebaik saja sampai di rumah kami pun mati. Itulah kemalangan yang paling ngeri yang pernah saya lihat sebelum saya mati.

As my last first day of school came to a screeching halt, i actually can't believe that I am Form 5 already. As i've conjured up some resolutions to be dealt with this year, i've often mumbled over excuses over why i couldn't accomplish them.

Among them is to overcome my horrible habit to "Ummmmmmmm..........." while thinking. Mom finds it excruciatingly irksome as if I've just arrived from Tanjung Rambutan.

I've often shared this among TRU-ers and that is despite it's my SPM year, what i still hope and pray for is for God to open more opportunities to serve Him. I've asked seniors on "How did you score?" and it's all the same answer: put God first.

Priorities for myself has often been something that I've organized and then reorganized again. Which has always been rather a big hassle for me. And something i need to overcome badly. For this year especially.

Oh well, what the heck. SPM, Sijil Paling Mudah all the way!

NSCFL Camp (National Schools' Christian Fellowship Leaders' Camp) is a camp like no other by the sense that you will have 6 days of pure scripture and training hammered into you.

What do you think? It's a LEADERS Camp of course thats why.

Honestly, I had no expectations attending this camp as i took it like as if i will be listening the same messages over and over again.

Boy, was I in for a storm.

The theme of the camp was "Heroes of the Faith." Which if taken from biblical aspects, you can base the theme on the Apostles of Jesus Christ and the list of names in Hebrews 11. The basic message is to see through that this new generation of Youth will become the new Heroes of the Faith in Malaysia. The camp is complied with numerous speakers, even Rudi Cheow from SJGC, with Francis Dunn as the speaker for sessions.

Accounts teacher Francis Dunn didn't fail to preach the Word in a whole new refreshing manner. Which at the same time, pierces the depths of our inner being. He showed us a whole way to look at what FAITH is about.

I think the main basis on why he touched on faith is due to the fact that as CF or Youth Leaders, it is vital to recognise that the idea that our works without faith equals to disaster. (Ephesians 2 : 8-9, all our righteous acts are like filthy rags.)

He also showed us even throughout our walk with God or even as a leader in CF or Youth, we will always meet up with disappointments. And the perfect example he used was the life of Joseph. The disappointments he faced before his destiny to become the Prime Minister of Egypt were such as his brothers selling him to Potiphar, when he was thrown into prison and held there for 2 years. But ultimately, was Joseph dissapointed with God?

No.

Joseph chose to forget and to be fruitful. He chose to mannaseh and ephraim. (Genesis 41 : 50 - 52)

Francis too showed us the encounters we will face with the Devil. Revealing that Satan was God's most perfect creation, but pride enterered him. From this session, i learned that Satan is NOT OMNIPRESENT (He's cannot be everywhere at the same time like God.) However, he used the world around to tempt us ( 1 John 2: 15-16)

Jason Fong, the Secretary General of Scripture Union gave us an in-depth account of God's Will. Showing that God's Will can be divided into different sections like God's Sovereign Will (God's overall plan for all creation, like Christ's second coming is an example.), God's Moral Will (Rules and laws created by God that must be abide by all men, like the 10 commandments are examples), and God's Individual Will (God's own plan for every individual, like who to marry for example.)

One whole new experience i gained from this camp, was from the 4 hours of fasting and solitude. In which each camper have to find a place to be alone for 4 hours, and to spend time with God. And i tell you, those 4 hours were so amazing that i wished i could have had more. It didn't occur to me that if you allow the world around you to be silent, God could reveal so much provided that you put your heart and soul into doing it. He showed me all my flaws that i could improve on for the next year, and what i must do as well. Basically, we put into practice the spiritual disciplines that were shared by Rudi on the previous day.

Also, TRUers (Sam, Liesl, Hsien Zern and myself) had the privellage to introduce the Brethren worship style to the campers. I believe for me personally that it was the right thing to do, as i had no shame to worship with our style. Worship is worship, no matter what style it is.

The campers in this camp are really different from your regular camps. When your first impression on a certain camper is, "Wah, this guy is mature like anything weih, he must be a Form 4." Man, you're so wrong. I've never met young Form 1s ,2s, and 3s Christians who are so inspired to be ambassadors of Christ as they are so well-equipped with Scripture and totallly filled with the Holy Spirit.

Overall, NSCFL will be a first and last experience for me. To the future leaders of CFSMKSU, i highly reccomend for you to attend this camp.

What would I do?

I recently read the classic novel, “In His Steps,” by Charles Sheldon which was written in the early 1900’s and originated the phrase, “What would Jesus do?” One man and his local church decide to answer the call to base all their decisions on the simple phrase, “What would Jesus do?” This started a chain of events that affected people throughout the nation. I felt challenged myself as I read the book. Many of you, like me, want to be more like Jesus, longing to line up everyday life with the Word of God and actions of Jesus. Seeking Him and His will are important to you.
While we can certainly make a difference by doing good works and teaching the way Jesus did, the more important question might be, “What did Jesus do?” Before you start naming all His works, let me sum it up with one scripture interwoven in much of Jesus’ teachings.
“For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.” John 6:38

Reading the four gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John paints a picture of the fact that there is no particular pattern that can be drawn and followed by studying the life of Jesus. He simply did what Father God asked Him to do each day. It never shows Him making major plans; He simply went to the place God sent Him and touched the people God told Him to touch. Some places saw all people around healed and delivered; other places only a select few. Instead of speculating and trying to pinpoint why, we need to take this example and follow it. While making your plans, take time to say, “Father what would you have me to do?”

We need this type of direction or else we will end up trying to do everything and burn out or be overwhelmed and do nothing.

So now, act like Jesus and take every day situations to the Father the way Jesus did.

Another question came to mind while reading this book: “What would Jesus have me to do?”

This question bears more on the direction and purpose in my life than on everyday events. Is my life in line with the will of God in every aspect? Am I willing to seek what God would have me to do or am I seeking what is comfortable and familiar? Am I following His path for my life or my talents, gifts, or what I think is expected of me? I challenge you to prayerfully look at all these questions.

Many times we think we are too busy in our lives to ask but we don’t realize the blessings we are missing. God will order our steps so that we can prioritize what we are doing and we will end up with time to spare. Sometimes we cannot answer the question “What would Jesus have me to do?” because we don’t set aside time to pray and listen. Jesus often went alone to pray. God wants to change things in our lives but can’t because we haven’t set apart time to be in His presence, pursuing Him.

God has new opportunities to minister for some while others are being asked to set everything down and deal with life issues. Many times opportunities that God has for us will not open up until we deal with these issues.

The parable of the 10 foolish virgins found in Matthew 25 shows us an example of someone not prepared who didn’t take time to ask what they should do. They were not prepared and the door was closed; they had not taken time to find out what they should do. Seeking God will prepare us for the next thing in our lives.

What would Jesus do? What did Jesus do? What would Jesus have me to do?

All American Rejects were pretty good. I will also give DiGi credit for showcasing some of Malaysia's Top Acts. But i can't say that this was a really good concert due to the overwhelming numbers of screeching, fanatical AAR fans that must have camped out there since the day before?

I constantly got sandwiched between 2 humongous guys who must have been 3 times my size. Among the crowd are also inconsiderate smokers. I've must inhaled enough secondary smoke to send me falling to my knees at any moment.

Some of the freakiest stuff i've seen are the AAR fanatics themselves. I saw a half-naked guy scribbling "Tyson is my man" all over his chest for crying out loud.

The worse part was that between the acts, there were breaks that were 45 mintues long! We entered the carpark around 5 p.m. and we were left standing there for nearly 2 and a half hours before Disagree came on.

What's also annoying was that when the crowd starts screaming for the next act, they do stuff like on the stage lights, fog up the stage, testing instruments etc. to make to crowd cheer even more. So when you're expecting AAR to come on, you are actually going to be stalled for another 15 minutes or so.

Oh well, how often do you get to see actual international rockstars? What a moment!

Sacrifice

After a few of the usual Sunday evening hymns, the church's pastor slowly stood up, walked over to the pulpit and, before he gave his sermon for the evening, briefly introduced a guest minister who was in the service that evening.

The pastor told the congregation that the guest minister was one of his dearest childhood friends and that he wanted him to have a few moments to greet the church and share whatever he felt would be appropriate for the service. With that, an elderly man stepped up to the pulpit and began to speak.

"A father, his son, and a friend of his son were sailing off the Pacific coast when a fast approaching storm blocked any attempt to get back to shore. The waves were so high, than even though the father was an experienced sailor, he could not keep the boat upright, and the three were swept into the ocean as the boat capsized."

The old man hesitated for a moment, making eye contact with two teenagers who were, for the first time since the service began, looking somewhat interested in his story.

The aged minister continued, "grabbing a rescue line, the father had to make the most difficult decision of his life - to which boy he would throw the other end of the life line. He only had seconds to make the decision.

The father knew that his son was a Christian and he also knew that his son's friend was not. The agony of his decision could not be matched by the torrent of waves.

"As the father yelled out, 'I love you, son!' he threw out the life line to his son's friend. By the time the father had pulled the friend back to the capsized boat, his son had disappeared beneath the raging sea. His body was never recovered."

By this time, the two teenagers were sitting up straight up in the pew anxiously waiting for the next words to come out of the old minister's mouth.

"The father," he continued, "knew that his son would step into eternity with Jesus and he could not bear the thought of his son's friend stepping into an eternity without Jesus.... Therefore, he sacrificed his son to save the son's friend."

"How great is the love of God that He should do the same for us. Our Heavenly Father sacrificed His one and only begotten son, so that we could be saved. I urge you to accept His offer to rescue you and take hold the life line He is throwing out to you in this service."

With that, the old man returned to his chair as silence filled the room. The pastor again walked slowly to the pulpit and delivered a brief sermon with an invitation at the end. However, no one responded to the appeal.

Within minutes after the service ended, the two teenagers were at the old man's side. "That was a nice story," politely stated one of the boys. "But i don't think it was very realistic for a father to give up his only son's life in hopes that the other boy would become a Christian."

"Well, you've got a point there," the old man replied, glancing down at his worn Bible. A big face smile broadened his narrow face. He once again looked up at the boys and said, "It sure isn't very realistic, is it?"

"But i'm standing here today to tell you that that story gives me a glimpse of what it must have been like for God to give up His Son for me. You see..... I was that father and your pastor is my son's friend."

I better post this up while I'm still free now.

I was really crying out to Him one night. My stubborn self was really questioning Him about my future. I was and still am, afraid of what i'll become of in the future. Watching that "Truth" video (The one at the bottom.) made me retaliated even more. Yes, the cross had intervened, truth is that i was always never sure whether i was living as a faithful son to Him. If only we submit ourselves fully, then only we can experience all of Him. Come on, I'm 16. I feel I should be thinking what i'll be doing 10 years from now. This had been going on for weeks.

Until a friendly face came along and said,

"I was praying on Thursday night and God wanted me to tell you this. He said:

"Jeremy, I'm not done with you yet. Do not say I'm finished moulding you to who I want you to become. I am not done with you yet. You've honoured my name and I'm proud of you. Therefore, I'm taking you to greater heights. Do not worry about your exams, I will give you wisdom comparable to Solomon. And you will be a father to the young ones. You're going to be someone they look up to. Someone they aspire to be like.Take heart, I will bless you. I love you son."

I really cried when I heard that last line. Who says guys can't cry?

They don't.

Wow, how in the world did i shove up time to blog about this. Maybe it cause i'm finally done with Salt Analysis. =P

Finally picked up this book from Samuel. (It's Shu Run's anyway.)
I've managed to read the first section of the book and to be honest I can't say i'm crazy over it. Besides, i've already kissed dating goodbye long before .

Although there are some solid truths in it, I must say that there's a slight chance that this book might have scared a lot of young men away from pursuing women. He is so strong about making sure you are ready, that many men, who are a bit gun shy to being with just throw up their hands and say no way. That is just my two cents though.

I think every couple is going to have a different story and they need to dfeine that themselves in light of God's word.

In the bible we have people engaged then married. Outside of that, there is no bibibical example of a defined relationship.

Perhaps courtship is the way to go since it is two people? Accountable? Looking at each other carefully guarding their hearts? Towards marriage?

Oh geez, why am i even talking about this.

I don't really think dating is inherently wrong, nor is courtship the answer to all dating ills. I still believe it is each individual, and couple, following God's plan for them personally,and obeying His commands from scripture that makes a difference. One could follow all the "rules" of "courtship" and their heart may be full of lust and impure thoughts, while another couple may be "dating" and have pure motives and hearts.

Yes, dating by the world's standards will leave you with nothing but heartache.

But if you are following God's plan for you, if you are seeking Him and obeying, this does not have to be the case.

And I would love to see people who think Josh Harris says "stand here and wait for a mate to be put in front of you by God" to give some concrete examples of why you feel that way from his actual writings. What does he say to make you feel that way?

I recall reading from someone's blog and that is God is love, find Him, and you'll find love.

Sigh, it was just not too long ago when i finally learned to "Let go, Let God."

This is just my opinion so far, the arguments the author came up with is rather not so convincing.

Scripture tells us that Joshua was thrust into a position of great responsibility. No doubt the enormity of the challenge before him made him tremble with fear. How could he ever follow such a great leader as Moses? In his own strength it would be impossible to lead the people in the Promised Land. But along with the marching orders, God gave him an assuring promise:

"I will never leave you, nor forsake you." - Joshua 1:5

Then He said, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go."

Recently, i watched "Up" at the committee's sleepover at Pam's house. Although it was intended to be an awesome action, animated flick. I wasn't really thrilled by all of it. Maybe because Carl is what i'll become in 40 years or so.

What did intrigued me though was the love story. Who would've thought that the "Adventure" part of the book would actually be the memories Ellie spent with Carl. If you can't really hold them back, i heard it can actually make you leak a tear or two.

The more controversial part is that it's a woman who conjured it up. Usually it's the guys who does it when "the time" comes.

Law Apprentice

I thank Mr. Jacob for giving me and Joyce this awesome experience to represent SU for Law Apprentice. It gives me a different perspective to what the subject on Law is and stuff on Criminal Law and Constitutional Law.

My team consisted of myself, Joyce, Phanit, Laavanya, and Revathi. We really considered ourselves as the "jokers" cause we never thought we could do well as our standard could not match up to those who went for Law Olympia.

The 1st part of the competition is where they gave us 10 human rights. And imagined if Aliens invaded earth, which of the 5 rights will you keep and why?

The second part is a trivia quiz on tyrants and leaders. Past and present.

Whereas the last part is where they gave us 2 different cases such as "Should abortion be legalized?", and we have to give reasons on whether we should approve the case and reasons why we should object it.

To our surpise, we achieved 11th place among 49 other teams. =)

Observing the Form Ones in CF have been a real inspiration for me. I've never thought that i'll be in SU long enough to catch a glimpse of a new growing generation that is standing up for Christ in the school.

Did you know before rall, they promoted Subang Rally every recess?

Do you know that eventhough they're only 13, they are already praying for other people's meals?

The Boss: Joyce "Fat Cheeks" Ong

Who knew that you will end up as my classmate and MY BOSS. It was an honor to serve under you and with you. From the start of this year, i already knew she will be the one to lead us in this tremendous city impact. No matter how much work or erasers you throw at me, i will always be there to poke, punch, pinch your FAT CHEEKS (Note: It's suppose to be a compliment, most people like myself find it cute anyway.) A real woman of God!

The Apprentice's Apprentice: Samuel "Ladiesman 217" Wong

Wow, it's been 9 years since we first met at SJGC. And it's been a good 9 years i must say. Still trying his luck with his so-called fancy pick up lines. Although he did managed to score once or twice, he came crashing burning down most of the time. The worse part is i've been a victim of his "girly talks" lately. Need to seek therapist regarding this problem soon.

The Register: Charlotte "Sure Outgrow You" Ooi

We happened to be in the same Acts Teens camp 2 years ago and we didn't realize it till a year later. Strangely enough, i tend to remember this girl for her "United We Stand" shirt. She's quite well known among the SMKSU basketballers as well (which totally explains her height).

Ms. Lelong-lelong: Cheryl "Handle with care or Darren will pukul you" Soh

Got to know her this year, the stuff she produces are pretty awesome. She was the first person to greet me at the Revolution Conference, which was so nice of her. Caution when approaching, tends to be extremely hyper at most times.

The Bouncer: Andrew "Million Dollar Smile" Lee

Replaced Shawn Poh as head of Security. He also served in last year's Amplified Rally committee. Very well known to be extremely fragile (refer to the image above). Not ashamed to let the whole world know that he's currently NOT single.

The live-wire: Pamela "People call her sexytary" Teh

It was a beautiful Saturday morning at the KTM Train Station when i first met her. Since then, i didn't remember her name till the first gathering of the school reps back in February (Sorry lah).Coincidentally, she also managed to catch the programme, "The Life and Death of Anna Nicole Smith" on they day before the gathering. Of course, now you're most likely thinking: "Jeremy Ong watches E!"

The Head Chef: Lee "talk too fast" Yen Yi

To be honest, i got abit scared of her when she started raising her eyebrows towards me in the first meeting (which was like a "Oh no, i'm the assasin's target" moment), but it's only after that meeting that i got to know her better. The thing is, she served the best lunch among all the rallies that i had attended. So, whoever her spouse will be, he sure is one blessed man with a satisfied tummy.

The Maestro: Esther "Giggles" Lim

I first met her back in 2007 at TRU's BBQ at Hannah's playground. At the time she was still in specs, braces and a very talkative yap. And i thought she was one of those little girls you get along with. Well, i was wrong, she's more mature than you think and tends to be extremely fussy in her choices. Which totally explains how awesome the worship teams are this year.

The Macho: Matthew "Tough Guy" Chan

I got to know his older brother, Samuel, at first last year at Amplified. And now that he will be SS17's new CF President, i'm very sure God will take him to greater heights. I commend him on setting up the area for this year's rally and he's extremely responsible for carrying out his duties.

The Professional Handshaker: Amanda "The Light" Ooi

This girl have been an inspiration to so many Recess Revolutionaries, and it was with great honor to have her on board this year's Rally team. With such a great influence, it explained why the numbers from SMK USJ 13 went up the roof this year. Tends to be whacky at most times.

The Boss's Boy: Marcus "not to be mistaken as Markers" Pee

We were in the same worship team last year, and a great drummer too. A guy which his requirement for sugar is among his basic needs. Happens to be an awesome photographer too. Which is why i've received so many calls from "Malaysia' Women Weekly" lately for his contact. And he will still pay for freaking me out with, "ZHAO DAO LIAO." (Inside joke lah.)

The Banker: Claire "all fired up" Ma

Don't let the sweet looks fool you, this girl is all fired up for God and ready to take on the world. Used to hold the record for whacking me the most in 7 months, though now that record is being held by Eilene Ling now. A real influence in her school as i heard many great testimonies about her from non-Christians. Tends to erupt into a thousand "I don't know"s in her conversations.

The Apprentice: Yap "Let's take picture!" Shu Run

One heck of a character. Never met this kind of species among the women. A rare, genuine, kind of girl. You can't get this anywhere except in Subang. Very photogenic and never fails to give me all the " -,-' " moments which i will always hold on dear to.

I'll just quote what i said in my post before rally:

"I will definitely cherish all the sweet moments and of course the sour ones. The weekly meetings,the scandals, the jokes, the events i attended with you guys, and the times when i regretted not attending the events with you guys, the photos i refused to take. But you put them all together, they make a tangy taste that will thrill your taste buds that will make you want for more won't it?"

Truly, the people you just read about are among the greatest gifts that God has ever given to me. When we all first met in February, i really thought that all of us will just be ordinary school reps gathering to make a rally possible. But it was all changed. When we prayed for unity among schools, i saw that it begun with us first. I really appreciate and love all of you.

Time Has Come

There are many reasons why i chose to serve in this year's rally. Most especially because God had been hinting me so many times that i have to serve Him in a way that can bring change to so many things around me. This is the year that marks the beginning of something greater that we could all imagine. The Temerloh Mission, Revolution Conference, Recess Revolution, and now of course rally that is definitely God inspired that lead us to this year's theme. I believe that this is it. It's now or never. 1000 Salvations were seen in an average girl's vision.

So if you have the opportunity to attend this year's rally to really witness a miracle, why miss it?

3 decades from now when i look back, i will say that it was an honor to serve among a God anointed organizing team led by a woman of God who i can call my friend (and boss of course. Who is still waiting for a right time to fling a rock at the back of my head when opportunity arises.)

Man, when all of this is over, i don't think i can help but weep over the thought that we would be cut off from each other and all of us will go our separate ways to our own walks with Christ. I will definitely cherish all the sweet moments and of course the sour ones. I'm blogging from school =D.

I've come to realize that after you do favours for people, they always forget that. Even i forget the many small things that those who aren't close with me did for me. Sorry.

There are many things i just wish would happen right now so i could get over and done with. However, if it doesn't go under God's plan, then i definitely understand the circumstances that i might have to follow up with.

To those volunteering for Subang Rally 09, i thank you for your services, this rally would not be possible without every contribution you are about to give. Our father in heaven is smiling down on us.

Music Review: ACTSperiment 2.0

Eilene just passed me an early birthday present. And i really thank her for getting me the latest ACTSperiment 2.0 produced by the ACTS Church.

I've got a pretty decent taste of their stuff after attending the Revolution Conference back in early June. I must say that their recording quality is astounding as they worked on it with a tight budget of 3k (excluding the printing and packaging cost, of course.)

With most of the songs written by the likes of Four Letter Story's own Joel Vijay and Altered Frequency's Andy Yeoh, the lyrics and the music do capture the heart of Praise and Worship music that shows a process of being disciples first before musicians. Taking His word out and living it loud.

Gosh it's July already, 10 more days left!

And now, i'm also regretting not attending the 4 Omega outing and the Made 2 Love concert at GTPJ.

As most of you know, i've taken up song writing not too long ago. Inspired by the likes of SJGC's own Crissy and Christina How.

I downloaded some of Crissy's material from Iishan's blog, which i find really awesome as it fulfils the requirements of both style and substance. Christina however writes based on how she feels and it somehow is able to relate to her audience.

Unlike me, i still find my lyrics alittle empty and i don't see how it can compel to me. Although i receive pretty good comments from both musicians and kin alike, i still don't "feel" it yet. It's almost like i'm attempting to promote world peace with the wrong scales balanced.

Oh well, i'm still working on it with some new mixture of R&B and Jazz.

If only I could write Love Songs.....

i couldn't help but be stunned when i heard it on Red. f.m. I grew up listening to MJ. Okay, we all grew up listening to MJ. I still remember when i was 5 when i saw "You are not alone." on RTM 2. And soon, songs like "Heal the world" and "Billy Jean" soon reached my ears. But soon after, he just simply vanished to me.

It wasn't till my cousin introduced me to his "Thriller" collection when i was 12. That was when i was in tune with MJ material again. Every artist is phenomenal in their own ways. But MJ was just pure legendary.

Why so early?

We were created and saved for the sole purpose of bringing glory to God. True worship recognizes that I am for Him. I breathe for Him. I live for Him. I spend my life for Him. The essence of worship is proclaiming God's rightful worth and position. It's one of the reasons why we come to church; to sweep out the peripherals that have crowded God out of His central place in our lives.

So much of what passes for worship these days misses that mark. Worship is not about me - what God does for me and how He benefits me. Worship is not singing, "Hold me close, let Your love surround me, bring me near....." An element of testimony is fine, but worship is singing to God. The joy of worship begins when we break the chains of self to be free to focus on God once and for all. God is not some exalted human being at the top of the mankind chain. God is ineffable glory. He "dwells in unapproachable light" (1 Timothy 6:16). He is not like us at all. He says of Himself in Isaiah 55:9, "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts."

God leads us to the place of worship because that's the place where we rightly belong. The word worship in the Old Testament means "to bow before." It's the picture of pressing your forehead to the ground in extreme humility and recognition of the infinite superiority to the one who is worshiped. That's our rightful place. The amazing thing is not that God invites our worship. It's that He would care about what we as sinful people would say about Him, and even more, that He would seek it.

Though i can't explain exactly, when the God of the universe is rightly worshiped, powerful things happen. When Jesus is passionately adored without shame or pretense, without entertainment or needless comedy, God shows up at the service.

Gosh, i wished i had photos for this post.

Interestingly enough,Hari Kooperasi was definitely (how Sarah puts it:) the most happening day in school. Even though i was sick, thank God i was able to make it. 4 Omega's stand next to Interact's selling "Ice - Cream Soda + Lime" proved to be a success as we made a hefty profit.

However, me, Amir, Joyce and Phanit had other plans.

Beforehand, me and Amir decided to bring our guitars and a couple of cups along to see whether we can earn a little extra for our class. I decided to paste a sign on my guitar that says:

"No, we are not con-men. We are just playing our part for the school. So whatever money that is in the cup will go to the school."

Playing a wide range of sing-along songs including "Love Story", "I'm Yours", "If i ain't got you", "Stay", "Thunder" etc. We managed to attract a crowd and the "party" started with a roaring applause after every song. So, while me and Amir played, Joyce and Phanit did the collecting. (With help from Azhad of 4 Kappa to light up the atmosphere of course.)

During the process, 80 % gave coins and 20 % gave us notes. But amazingly, we managed to come with an extra RM 50.00 from 4 Omega within 2 hours. (Of course people are willing to give, it's a charity event, not a beggar scandal thinga-majig.)

However, teachers that walked by just laughed. Pn. Pushpa called us "pathetic". But still, the whole idea was to attract attention for the fun of it.

Thoughts

It's been a really hard week. I've been under alot of pressure lately, and although i managed to hold back all my emotions, i finally fell to my knees for my cry out to God.

It's only less than 20 days. And me and a few others don't want to let anyone down, especially Him. Nowadays i've been reminded by people who seem to give me a taste of my own medicine at the fact that i feel bad about the most foolish things. It's just that so many people are taking things for granted and they don't sense the urgency. I feel that i've not been at my best and it affects me in many ways. Pray for me really.

For the few who called to check up on me. Thank you so much, God's been good to me through these people. The many times that i could have given up but all of you directed me into the right direction.

Ironic isn't it. How much we tend to advice others on how good God is to us and yet we fall without even living based on the words that come out from our mouth. The ultimate reality is that we are just complete uttermost rubbish that are redeemed by His blood. We are not holy, we are forgiven. At the moment, I wish i could have a pit-stop and to get back into the groove fresh. But yet, i can't seem to escape from this slowing tempo and i've been struggling to match the rhythm.

I still continue believe that God allow all these things to happen to me. Kong Beng's sermon on the fact that God allows darkness to come upon Israel in order for Israel to gain victory in a way, could be relevant. If not, that it's just the Devil's works to make us think that we are completely unworthy and unrighteous bunch of nitwits living for a cause that will result into nothing. And let me say that I've heard that a thousand times, but it was all proven to be lies after seeing the victories that we have won.

The many times i shed tears, He was always there when i was alone. As for tonight, i know that it will be proven to be a fruitful appointment with Him. He never failed me yet. He always gave me a good pat on the back which is so comforting.

On the other hand, i made someone unhappy. If only i can get this big head of mine to think wisely before i act it wouldn't have happened. Oh well, it's a nut that i must dig out within a good chocolate before i consume it to realize how bitter the taste is order to get the pure taste of the candy alone. (Did that even make sense to you?)

To that certain someone, I'm very sorry.

i will come back fine and dandy again. I just need some time now.

Happy Father's Day everyone.

I'm very ill now. i'm not going to reveal my condition. Praying hard that there's nothing wrong with me. Rally is like only days away and i can't afford to miss it. God help me.

I've been drained emotionally and physically.

To Shurun and Pamela, forgive my ss-ing today. I didn't realize i was sick all the while. (Sorry only the 2 of them will get it. It's nothing bad really.)

It's only when i came home then only i felt the sudden pain.

I really need to rest.

I'm glad to hear that one of my friends has decided to be part of a full time ministry when he leaves school. He doesn't attend CF and i heard of the many battles he won for the Lord.

It pretty much reminds me the theme for TRU camp's theme last year:

RoleCall: Living a life worthy of your calling.

i still remembered my calling as well to be involved more in His service.

It was in TRU Camp 2007 during the last day of camp. Navin was perched on some rocks when i just decided to join him. I asked him what he was doing. Apparently he was just admiring the beautiful creation of our Lord. And eversince that day i always take some time to admire a beautiful scene in every camp.

Our conversation on Rapture was abrupted by Gabriel who happened to pass by and he popped the question, "Hey, have you guys watched Left Behind? "

Left Behind is a movie regarding Christians being taken to Heaven all at once and all the non-believers will be left behind when Rapture comes. It also shows many of the events which the Bible predicted that is already happening and everything that will come. We are already livingin time of the Rapture. I was "awaken from my sleep" immediately and that was when i realised that i had alot of work to do.Till then, by God's grace i managed to bring 3 brothers to Christ and i pray that they have been walking in God's way.

There's still much work to do. In case many of you don't know, God had been giving many leaders visions of the Revolution in Malaysia that will make a complete change to the nation. For example what happened in March 8 2008 is never a coincidence for me. I don't believe in luck or fortune, it's only by His will that it happened.

It's already happening people, whether you believe it or not.

"to do His will, and finishing His work."

CF Camp 09: R U In Heart (Recap)

8th June 09 - 11th June 09.

The beginning of something great. With a bus load of 35 crew members, musicians and including instruments, PA systems etc. We set off for Hulu Langat.

If only you were part of the Camp Committee or the worship team than you will know the reality of organizing a camp. When a camper gets the minimum 7 hours of sleep, we only get the 3 hours. Overall, it was all worth it.

Personally, every drop of sweat counts for this camp as it is a chance for each and every one of us to bring salvation and a sense of revival for our school. Unlike any other CF Camp, this year's camp proved to be a training ground and all of us are stretched to our limits both spiritually and physically.

Spiritually in a sense as we are challenged by the prophecies and rather for some of us challenges that we must overcome told by Pastor Les Lee. The man truly obtained the gift prophesying for anyone who is prepared for it. For some of us, we found our First Love again. And of course those who received Salvation.

Physically as in the tough Jungle Trek on the second day and the Rafting as well.( Still remember the sweet aroma of the water in the lake filled with dead fish and the moss?) The camp site itself wasn't that pleasant. With continuous lack of water in the bathroom and the uncomfortable beds. But it was nothing in the end, i would always remember all the funny moments such as the "dumping" by a certain YOU-KNOW-WHO. The singing in the shower and of course the all the guy talks. Team Cuore with frontman David Tan.

I'm thankful for my group Cuore. I'm proud to say that David Tan was an awesome leader both in Devotions and when it comes to earning points for the group. Under his leadership, we were winners in every event. The rafting, the Amazing Race, the Group Cheer competition. And we were champions in the end. To increase his credibility, he even studied the Daily Devotion materials and he even prepared his own before camp.

The presence of God was there with us. I felt it in every moment. I'm thankful for the seniors that joined us. I thanks Chu Joshua as he once again reminded us about our duties as a committee member. It is always about the passion that must drive us to serve as God only deserves the best. Not the second best. The desire to see the expansion of Kingdom of God that will push us to our limits. Who knew that our worship could go on for 2 and a half hours! I believe that camp this year have raised an army for God to bring revival to Subang Utama.

CF Camp 09, it was never about the place. It's God and the people that made it awesome.

Blessing or Challenge?

Need to let something out.

Apparently God has decided to toy with me with something. I don't know what is it, is it a blessing or some challenge to see how I handle it?

It occured in February and it's not over yet. Actually this happened to me 2 years ago and i asked God to never let it happen again. Unfortunately for His reason, he allowed it to happen. There are times when I laugh, smile, and pinch myself whenever I think about it. And then there are also times when I ponder and asked God why did He let it happen. At the same time, i would feel that i didn't deserve to be in such a gracious yet tough situation.

I've been hinted that this "thing" will be away for 3 days if i'm not mistaken and then it will return to make me happy,or haunt me, or think even MORE about it.

TRU's topic on Jacob and the amount of times he wrestled with God because he wanted things to go his way. I might be in the same situation as i'm still waiting for His response and I'm praying extremely hard that i would be able to hold on longer. If not, if it's for the best for me I would let go of this thing. At the moment, i think i'm losing the battle, but I will definitely won't lose the war.

God, You're funny.

But i am forever grateful to You for letting this happen.

First Style, Then Comes Expression

In accordance to style, I also noticed that how i play my jazz piano was based on my feeling.

Apparently I play best when my mood is in need to express myself.

Lately, I don't share my problems with anyone anymore (other than with God), I seem to let it all out on some sweet Major 7ths and Major 9ths. With the addition of the recent blues scales that i've learned. The volume hitting going in to a crescendo increases the range of the scale too. Which is so much harder without 'feel'.

Well, things have been running in circles in my head lately. And to be frank i've been beating around the bush. So instead of facing it, I let it all out on keys with pathetic expressions on my face. Feels good at times you know? What is more beautiful to soothe you with the gift of jazz,soul,R&B to help you let it all out?

I've just received 2 very different photocopies of books if i'm not mistaken from Tzi Ying. This is something that i will definitely blog about as many of you are asking questions concerning Heaven and Hell. Perhaps through these 2 books i can reflect on my faith and wheter i'm doing enough as a Christian. Kelvin says that these books are very impactful.

The 2 books are:

Revelations of Hell by 7 Youths- "Warning to All -- Hell Is Real!" These 7 Youths were shown Heaven and Hell while together, as a group.

Revelations of Heaven by 7 Youths- "Heaven is Real!" These 7 Youths were shown Heaven and Hell while together, as a group.

I, for one, cannot deny the existence of Heaven and Hell. I even have friends that told me of their experiences of their journey to Hell and back. Some of them even met Jesus on their hospital beds. Isn't that wonderful?

Now i'm just wondering wheter i'm going to ever get any sleep after reading this.

*By the way,one of them told me that Jesus is a very handsome man. =)

I found the time to complete my version of Taylor Swift's Love Story. (I pretty much got this inspiration to play around with songs from Kris Allen!)

A Journal of Faith

Today's TRU's Discussion Topic was based on the Faith Factor.

I also found out that a certain Mrs. Dora Goh reads my blog.

Relating our daily walk with God with the story of Abraham's journey truly inspired me to wait on God for His perfect timing and terms. Somehow I still can't picture Abraham's feelings when He was told to sacrifice Isaac. But because he obeyed, Israel became God's chosen nation and people.

I was really intrigued by the idea of us penning down our thoughts into a Journal based on how our faith in God had been throughout the day. Although time still isn't allocated for me, I will definitely include this Journal writing into my Quiet Time. I believe in 20 years or so, I'm sure i can check on wheter my faith had taken steps forward or even realising how God answered my prayers without even me knowing it.

One thing that i would pray for is Patience. I have this attitude of expectancy when it comes to asking something from God. It's like i'll pray for it the night before and then the following day i'll look forward for it to happen. If not, I'll pray about it again and again and just keep waiting. But i'm not sure how long i could hold on. Therefore, I'll request more patience from Him.

When God leads us differently to a different path, it effects all of us differently. Like having a best friend moving away or transferring to another school could lead to us to the thought of that there's no one else could understand us better than our best friend, but I'm encouraged by people who turned to Him for His comfort and understanding, drawing them closer to Him.

It could also be about a certain guy or girl we fancy. It's funny how we ponder on the question "Is she the one?" And when we pray about it, i notice how often some of us assume that what our close friends tell us to do is what God is telling us to do. Yet, we forget that we need to be still and quiet to listen for His voice. I quote from what Eilene told me the other day in class, "Sometimes what we want to do is not what God wants us to do." And on the other hand, Damien says, "Sometimes what we don't want to do, is what God wants us to do." Which even made my thoughts caught within an atmosphere of confusion. Alvin Chan also mentioned that we can never know wheter a certain guy/girl we like is the one that is a match made in Heaven, only God knows. And that's when having faith comes into the picture

Likewise, we need to learn to be patient in everything that we ask from Him. When times like when we feel that He's no longer there, He's already working wheter we know it or not. Just like when everyone thought that God had forsaken China in the 1970's, and 3 decades later there's now a 100 million Christians in China. And to set up your on church there, all you have to do now is to receive a permit from some Religion-Department-Thingy in the Government.

Looking back, I can most definitely say that God had allowed some things to happen in order for greater purposes. You may not be at the place where you say that God intended some difficult thing for good. However, be encouraged that the transformation He makes in you is truly worthwhile. God allows troubles to happen to us, and will most assuredly strengthen you to deal with them. Which are tests and trials of faith for me.

Nothing in your life is beyond God's purpose or protection. He would never allow anything that could not ultimately be used for good. Therefore, take heart that even the troubles have come to you with the promise of hope.

Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.

Today i got real angry. As in i was really really mad. I didn't understood why was he trying to find a way to get me because of what principals that I hold on to. To make matters worse, I threw my anger on someone else who only checking up on how was I doing.

To that someone, I'm so sorry. I know you forgave me already but still, I am so sorry. You know who you are.

It's really hard to be like Christ, tougher days are ahead of me. People are more likely out to find the moment to strike and to get you.

Temerloh Mission

"Then Jesus came to them and said, "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. ¹⁹Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, ²⁰and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age."-Matthew 28:18-20.

That's practically the verse that drove TRU to serve the Lord in Temerloh. God asked us to go and we just went. Putting our trust in Him above all else.

God is good:

1) We prepared flyers to invite the Youth at Temerloh to join us. We expected a 100. And God gave us much more than that, He gave us 160. And it's all done by word of mouth, the flyers were never sent out.

2) We asked God that we will break all communication barriers and new friendships will be found. And it was all fulfilled through the Amazing Race.

3) We prayed that the Youth will come with open hearts and minds. And they definitely did. I prayed extremely hard for Fellowship Night as I was Worship Leading and Jon and team prepared a skit for them.

The youth there are amazing. When they want to know you, they really take the effort to form friendships with you. And I prayed extremely hard for Worship and they joined in the hand clapping, the screaming etc.

To be honest, I wasn't sure on how they received the word but I was greatly reminded that we could be the ones who planted the seed, let God do the watering.

I believe that TRU made a great decision by choosing to serve the Lord rather than our annual retreats.

I thank all of you who prayed for me for what happened. I'm beginning to see the ill-effects of joining this team.

What happened basically was my parents are just not happy with my tight schedule. So they decided to let it all out on me. For the first time in months I actually broke down. But moments after the "lecture", my Quiet Time with God was an amazing 1 1/2 hours.

God is good. Today everything's fine again.

It's April already. I can't believe it. So much stuff to keep up with this month. With Good Friday and Easter coming up, some friends of mine have taken up the 40 days fasting to spend time with the Lord rather than their recess meals.

I'm not sure wheter I have the right to do this. But I think most of you will agree with me.

Based on my observations from the past few months, I think this year Subang Utama's batch of Form 3s and Form 2s are among the worst.

I'm posting this to wake all of you up! Please! Studies first before basketball,volleyball etc. Don't jeopardise SU's academic performance. I will personally go after the ones that I know.

I found this vid of my former schoolmate, Liang Jin.

Hey guitarists of SJGC, remember the time when we were challenged to pull off the sweeping part of Canon Rock which requires skill that totally surpasses ours?

I am impressed. This guy owns me. Although he totally improvised almost the entire song except the chorus, the sweeping part of the original will be no problem for him.

There's one thing that I must strongly touch on. Why do people keep complimenting the shredders?

Of course, it requires a tremendous amount of skill to be like a Satriani or a Mlmsteen. Guitarists who could shred doesn't mean they're the best in the world,it just adds to their potential and there are many guitarist's solos are far tastier.

I am a blues player myself, though I major more in the experimental,alternative and Christian music genres. But for the past three years, I observed Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Johnson and John Mayer.

Take John Mayer for example, people claim that he's not like a Guitar God like Jimmy Page or Steve Vai, whoever says John isnt a great guitarist because he doesnt "shred" has no idea what it takes to be a good blues player.Blues requires touch, feel, and passion, of which shredding requires none really. Any guitar player with a little bit of time can move their fingers fast, but most can never play with the touch and feel like John can.John Mayer is very simple. As of right now he's one of the best mainstream players out there. Of course there are players under the radar who are far better. He's heading in a musical direction that commands respect. He obviously worked very hard to get this good. Who cares if he's not the best, he's good.

Though I am thankful that I've used my skills only just for God's purposes. I'm not bragging here, but i've been offered a few times to be a sessionist. I am grateful, but I guess i'll turn them down for greater reasons.

I've just returned from the first CF Rally 2009 meeting.

I'm in awe of the sacrifices the past comittees made. As i went for tea, I kept asking myself, How much am I willing to sacrifice for this rally?

I stated a point saying that I will treat rally as though it was like a 'mission trip' in relation to TRU's Mission year. I guess I knew what's going to come. I can't help it, but now I feel so much appreciative to people like Shaun Ang, Jeremy Yee,Kenny Ng,Kelvin Lee, Audrey Joyce and many more. Thinking of the time they spent for the succesful rally last year, I am truly inspired you guys. I belive only by the passion for their work continued drive them forward.

One thing that really I remembered is, it's God's rally, not ours, salvation for people is up to God, not to us.

For the next 4 months I will definitely carry this verse with me.

So Much For Chinese New Year

I'm beat from the 3 hour trip from Ipoh.

Frankly, a part of me never looks forward to seeing my relatives there, they're all on my mum's side. No, it's not that I have anything against them.

IT'S THAT I SUCK IN MY CANTONESE

Don't mock me, I can speak cantonese, when it comes to ordering beverages or a nice Koay Teow of course, but seeing your parents blabering "gibberish" to the aunties makes you think like you're the usual family nutcase there, or what they call the "banana." '

The worse part is when they start talking about me, they start asking my parents questions like

"Lei ket zai yao tuk xu mou?"

"Lei bei Jeremy yam meh ah?"

And then they will start yakking about how tall I've grown etc. And then it ends with:

"Lei zai hou pandai hor...."

Thankfully, one of them speaks mandarin, she was like the only one who i could communicate properly.

Sigh, my cantonese is not fluent enough to have a proper conversation, in the end the prosperity moment with your relatives count aye?

By the way, CF SMKSU's Friendship Day will be on 13th of February! Bring a friend along and do not miss the new CF Movie directed by our own Chan Tong! See you there!

Happy CNY, I'll be leaving for Ipoh on Tuesday. =)

What a week I tell you. So tiring but so joyful, God had been so good to me.

CF had literally overflowed this week, with many of it's former members returning. I'm awestruck in God's amazing work.

Also, praise God that CF will not be shifted to Saturday meetings. Cause if that happens, we are only able to meet up only once a month.

Actually this post is suppose to be an announcement post.

I am currently recruiting new musicians to join the CF Worship Team, if you can't play any instruments, your voice is already "show-worthy". Do help us in any way for we are thinned out of musicians. PLEASE JOIN, especially the Form 1s and the Form 2s.

Unfailing Love

Who knew that sharing and praying with your youngest sibling of the family could be such a tremendous act to heal the wounds in the family.

What a week I tell you, I guess I know what's it like to be in Form 4 now, it's a massive gap from Form 3. But on the other hand, arguments in the family had been a hard time. It was so bad that I often prayed before God in a "kneeling" matter. I will not go into deatails on what happened.

A quick flash back!

Christmas Eve 2008

I was cleaning up the hamster's cage with my youngest brother Joshua, he was 8 then, a good young chap who attends school,Sunday School, never fails to impress the teachers and a recognized figure in the house.

So he was rinsing the cage while I prepared the new bedding. I suddenly popped the question:

"Do you know what day is tommorow?"

"Christmas Day?"

"Correct, but do you know that it's also someone's birthday?"

"Jesus?"

"Yeah, since when were you that smart?"

Moments later, I asked him again.

"Josh, do you know who created you?"

"Mommy?"

"Wrong la! God created you!"

"But how can?! I came out of mommy mar?!"

"......"

"How did God create me Kor Kor?"

"Before God created the universe, He already knew you. He knows what school you're going to, what you're going to work as, who you're going to marry, when are you going-"

"What if I don't marry?!"

"That means, that is His will for you!"

And the conversation went on...and on....and on...

So back to present, I finally had the urge to pray with him.

We went up to my room and we just sat together. Here are the deatails of what occured:

I told him about how funny and weird how God speaks to us. I told him that I spoke to God about my worry on the familly problems, and ironically, my quiet time material on that certain day was on Matthew 6:25 ²⁵ "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? ²⁶ Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? ²⁷ Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life ^[e]?

And so, he agreed to pray together

"Josh, if you don't want to pray out loud, you could just pray in your heart you know."

"But kor, I don't know what to pray for."

"(Whispered to him the prayer items)."

"Okay, i got it."

Halfway through his silent talk to God. Suddenly........

"I forgot what to pray for edi! First I asked God for forgiveness, thanked Him for today and then I don't know what to say edi!"

I whispered him the items again.

"Kor kor, must I start all over again?"

"It's okay, you can just continue, but please say out 'Amen' so that I know that you're finished."

"Okay kor."

Soon, we were kneeling together as I closed in prayer. There was a sense of security as somehow I knew that God was there with the both of us.

Who knew that 2 hours later, God worked in our family, there was so much joy again, and the atmosphere of a family united again. Who knew that a simple prayer made by someone who you thought is still young to learn about Jesus and His great works could be so empowering.

God answers prayers by anyone.

Hello all, I'm now 320 km away from KL in Singapore, and I had to ask Soon Huat to pick up my PMR Results. Praise God for the 6 A's for my PMR. All Glory goes to Him. Sorry I can't post the photos from my trip to Gold Coast, it's still not uploaded yet.

When I heard the news my mood really swung. Ironically,the B was BM, the subject which I consistently scored A. But still, if it wasn't for my parents,TRU,CF,a good ol' bunch you can depend on and heavy doses of BRANDS Chicken Essence, I wouldn't have reached this far. Oh Lord, How Can I Ever Repay You?

I've just purchased a Japanese Epiphone Les Paul from Keith's shop. Yes TRUers, THAT Keith.

According to Keith, this Epiphone Les Paul is made based on the original Gibson , unlike the ones made in China and Korea. To be more specific, this Japanese Les Paul is actually made ONLY for the Japanese people, so actually finding a Japanese Les Paul in Malaysia ain’t easy.

Side View

The body is basically Mahogany wood and with a Cherry Sunburst paint job as the finishing touch. The pickups are the classic Gibson P-90 humbuckers.The neck is made from Rosewood, and the headstock is made based on the original designs of the Gibson Les Paul. But yeah, this is not a Gibson, but if you want something as near as the pure Gibson Les Paul tone and sound and for a price 3 times cheaper, this is the best you can get. The Back

So, of course a Japanese Les Paul is definitely not cheap. But amazingly, I got this Les Paul for RM 2900 from a price of RM 3500 which is a RM 600 difference. Not bad eh?

This guitar is pretty versatile. I could play almost anything from Blues, Jazz, Pop Rock etc. Of course the Fender beats this guitar in versatility, but I guess this could be the next best thing for playing almost anything. I’m still trying to adapt myself to this guitar, it’s going well so far, but if you know a thing or two about Les Paul effects and tricks, do let me know ASAP. =) The Head Stock
